A special correspondent from New Straitsville to a Cincinnati paper says:
Lemuel Webb was fatally injured at Logan last night. He had went from here to attend the Hocking County Fair, and before night was so beastly drunk that he did not know which train to take home. He got on the Athens train and was put off in the lower end of the Hocking Valley yards, and while endeavoring to get back to the depot, he staggered onto the track just in front of a moving train, resulting in the loss of both legs just below his knees, and probably his life.

I am looking for anyone who knows any information on Lemuel Webb.
He had at least two sisters, Susanna WEBB SHERADEN, Cynthia WEBB and two half sisters, Sally Ann BOWER and Cordelia SNYDER. Any help would be greatly appreciated.According to Cynthia's estate papers, Lemuel was living in Straitsville OH at the time of her death 9 Oct.1886 in Athens Co. OH. - Thanks, Donna - 28 Jan 2004

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Lemuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Lemuel:
Thanks for your email. You asked if I had more proof of lineage for Lemuel an his parents - I'm posting it here because my reply to you bounced back.
1/3...I put this tree together for my wife so her 3xgrandfather is Lemuel through his daughter Elizabeth (Valkenburg).
Its been a while since Ive worked on her tree so I looked at what I already have, and everything I do have is posted to this WikiTree site. I dont recall how exactly I determined connection to Lemuel but I assume its from some website I visited. I know thats not the wisest thing to do but as much as the experts tell you not to do it it still helps to solve mysteries of those far flung profiles....
2/3...We know Lemuel was living with a Rachel Webb through the census in 1850 and 1860. Theres no George in either case so he was either dead or somewhere else.
Unfortunately, all the other names listed in census' with Lemuel and Rachel lead to brick walls. If we knew how they ended up we might be able to get the names of their parents through marriage or death registrations.
3/3...Location wise, it makes sense from my wifes family history as several generations after Lemuel lived in Nelsonville. Thats no solid proof but it serves as a good hint for further probing.

There is a gravesite in a cemetery in Nelsonville, Ohio with a Rachel, wife of George Webb inscription, and the dates line up: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=128133674
Thats all we got though, Im afraid to report.
