Alderman, Mayor of Douglas, J.P. Lived on Island some 43 years, from about 1860. His first 4 children were christened in Manchester Cathedral, the last such happening on 18 April 1860, thereafter at St. Barnabas, Douglas, Isle of Man, the first such being 08 Sep 1861, so the move took place between these two events. Leading light in the Masons. All the shops in Douglas closed for his funeral.
