Mr Hector Elvln Webb, who passed away at his residence, "Lorna Doone," Bathurst Road, Springwood, on Fri day last, at the age of 72 years, was a son of the late Joseph Albert and Sarah Ann "Webb, of Latrobe, Tas mania, where he was born. At the age of nine years deceased came to Sydney with his parents and settled in the suburbs. Before taking up resi- . dence at Sprlngwtood deceased con ducted a boarding house at Lithgow and later went to Carcoar. On com ing to Springwood, some 31 years ago, he took over "Karcopla,",, which he conducted as a boarding house. He also conducted the drapery store now owned by Mr A. McDonald and the . confectionery business next door, and, in later years, had. been in business as an estate agent. Deceased had been in ill health for some months, but his death was un expected. Besides his wife deceased leaves a daughter, Eileen (sic) Frances (Mrs R. V. (Ford, Epping). Brothers and sisters are Edith (Mrs Purnell, Bellevue Hill), Rev. Lewis (sic) Webb (C. of E. Minister, England). Two sisters, Ida (Mrs Webster) and Miss Ruth-Webb, and one brother, Albert, precescased him. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon last at Springwood general cemetery. Rev. A. S. Smith officiated.
