John Thomas Webb was born about 1817 in St. Luke's parish, Middlesex. In the 1861 census he was lodging with Emma and James Vandersteen at 8 Mape Street, Bethnal Green. James died in November 1863 and on June 27, 1865 John married his widow, Emma at All Saints Haggerston. At the time of their marriage they were living at 17 Lee Street Haggerston and John was a Hemp Tub Manufacturer. They had one daughter, Ann, born about 1867. By 1871 They were living in Bow at 9 High Street and John was a tobacconist. In 1881 they were living at 1 Forest Road, Leyton and John was a Hemp Hackle Maker. Sometime in the next 10 years John died as in 1891 Emma was recorded as a widow living on her own means.
