John Webb of Fulbourn, son of Peter (occupation shoemaker), married Agnes Clayton on 11 Mar 1853 at the parish church of St Vigor in Fulbourn, witnesses were William Bye and Mary Ann Webb. [1] [2]

John and Agnes Webb emigrated to South Australia on the Calabar, arriving at Port Adelaide on the 1 Aug 1853. [3]

John Webb (age 30, father Peter Webb) married Elizabeth Shuttleworth on 2 Sept 1861 at Trinity Church Adelaide [4]

He died in 1901[5], and was buried in Dawson Cemetery (Protestant North section, plot 78).[6][7]

Research Notes

There is a baptism for a child of Peter and Sarah Webb in Fulbourn on the 23 May 1830, the record does not have a name or sex of the child, there is a line through the entry, but it could have been the baptism of John. [8]

His marriage to Agnes Clayton confirms he is the son of Peter, occupation shoemaker (as in the 1841 census) and his age from the 1841 census (11), emigration to South Australia (22), marriage to Elizabeth Shuttleworth (30) and his death in 1901 (71) all place his birth c1830-31.
