Mr. Webb was born in Orange County, Va., May 1, 1833 and in 1836 came to Missouri. He served in the Confederate Army from the beginning to the end of the Civil War. He was a member of the Baptist church form early manhood and was a member of the Old Men's Club. The funeral was held Wednesday in Dover and interment was made in the family grounds. Mr. Webb was a member of one of the oldest and best known families in the county, born in Orange County, Virginia, May 1st, 1833 and came to this county in 1836 since when he has continually resided. He was united in marriage to Martha Lyon daughter of Col. Louis Green by whom were reared two children. Mrs. J. M. Redd of Dover and Jno. Webb of Oklahoma, both living, he united his fortune with the south and joined Gen. Jo. Shelby's regiment in 1862 and remained with his command till the close of the war. Mr. Webb was an earnest and conscientious member of the Baptist church and has been from early manhood and if he had an enemy no one ever knew it. Peace to his honored ashes.
