George Henry Frederick Webb was born in Lambeth, Surrey on 12 July 1828. He was the son of Samuel Webb andIsabella Sweet.
George married Matilda Field. Their marriage was registered in Lambeth in the fourth quarter of 1850.[1]
George and Matilda travelled to Melbourne, Victoria, arriving in 1852. Originally, George had planned a one year visit for his health, but decided to stay.
Matilda died in 1860.
George married Sophia Agg in 1862.[2] They lived at "Crotonhurst" in Caulfield.[3] Sophia's brother married George's niece.
George served on the Supreme Court of Victoria from 4 May 1886 until his death.
George died at home in Caulfield on 26 September 1891, and was buried in Melbourne General Cemetery, Carlton North, Victoria.[4]
