Biography

She was the daughter of Henry Webber and Jane Elliott. [1]

Elender Webber first married as the second wife. of John Chiles, Sr. (son of Walter Chiles, Jr.).[2] [3] He resided in King William County, Virginia and held various positions ...

1693 messenger of the council
1714 justice of King WIlliam
1723 member of the house of burgess.

Her husband, John Chiles, Sr., died in 1723.

Elender was later identified as being the relict of John Chiles, when she married secondly about 1723 to Edwin Hickman, as his first wife.

Her father, Henry Webber, deeded land to "Eleanor" Hickman, wife of Edwin Hickman and relict of John Chiles, deceased; then at her death to Henry Chiles and John Chiles, heirs of John Chiles, Gentleman, deceased, of St.Margaret's Parish, King WIlliam County, Virginia.

Her mother, Mrs. Jane Webber, relinquished her dower in the land deed to her grandsons. [4]

Her sons, Henry Chiles of Spotslyvania County and John Chiles of King William County, sold 400 acres of this land in May 1736. This would indicate that they were both of age by this date and thus, the younger was born before 1715. [5]

Elender died about 1738.

Ellender's birth date is after some of her children from her first marriage. If she was one of the elder children of her parents, she could be as much as three decades older.

There is a correction in Tidewater Generations p. 59 that points out that Henry Webber never called the sons of John Chiles grandsons or did Eleanor call them her sons. So more proof needs to be found.
I believe Elender E. Webber who married Edwin Hickman in 1723 in Sussex Co. Virginia were the parents of James b. 1724, Thomas b. 1725, Susannah b. 1727 a son William unsure of birth date, Richard b. 1728 Martha b. 1734 and my ancestor Edwin Hickman Jr born 1744 in Virginia and died 1805 in North Carolina. I believe Elender died sometime after 1758.

Elliott-16332 and Webber-150 are not ready to be merged because: The profiles have significant differences.

Elender Webber-150 was the daughter of Henry Webber & she married Hickman in 1723.

The other profile, Eleanor Elliott-16332 was the daughter of James Elliott and she married Hickman in 1744

So more research is needed.

The Hickman children must be step-children; Elender didn't marry Hickman until 1723.....
