Three months after her husband's death in June 1781, Elizabeth (Webster) Marden, at the age of 41, delivered her ninth child. In 1793, her eldest son, Josiah Marden, took his mother and his younger siblings under his care and moved them to his home at Canterbury, New Hampshire. Elizabeth (Webster) Marden remained a widow for 49 years and died at Canterbury, New Hampshire, on 3 Nov 1830.[4]
