Timothy Weed is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A121507.

Captain Timothy Weed was born on 22 May 1758 in Ridgefield, Fairfield, Connecticut. He was the son of Bartholomew Weed and Sarah Benedict.[1]

Timothy was a Soldier of the Revolution, serving as a private in 7th company, 5th Regiment under Ichabod Dolittle from 15 May 1775 to 8 Oct 1775.

Captain Timothy Weed married Sarah Silsbee on 11 Dec 1777 in Ridgefield, Fairfield, Connecticut.[2] [3][4][5]

Research about his spouse: Their marriage is thoroughly documented, but who that Sarah Silsbee's parents were, where she was born, and how they met is not yet known. Many genealogies have stated that she was the Sarah Silsbee born to Samuel and Sarah Breed Silsbee in Lynn, Massachusetts Bay, on 4 June 1758. But, in view of the distances involved, that woman seems much more likely to have been Sarah Silsbee, the woman who married Stephen Smith in neighboring Salem, Massachusetts Bay, on 20 Nov 1782, had children, and died there in 1829.

Timothy was counted in Ridgefield in the 1800 federal census. In his household were:[6]

Timothy, age 25-44, and his wife
2 boys under 10, likely Bartholomew and Silsby
3 girls (under 10, 10-15, and 16-25), likely Polly, Lydia & Rua
In separate household listing is Timothy Weed2, age 16-25, with a woman of the same age, surely his wife Olive.[7]

He died on 20 Oct 1800 in Ridgefield, Fairfield, Connecticut. [8] [9][10]

His will was in probate in 1800.[11]
