Research Notes

According to Robert Dobb Weekes' "Genealogy of the Family of George Weeks", there were two Lemuel Weeks born in near 1730 who were sons of William Weeks':

  • Lemuel (William (William Weeks (1690-bef.1790)), Ebenezer, Ammiel, George) was born about 1727 in Falmouth (now Maine) following his father's removal from Dorchester to the Falmouth area and married Peggy Gooding in Falmouth in 1750.
  • Lemuel (William (William C Weeks (1688-abt.1755)), John, William, George) was born 25 Oct 1733 in Dorchester, Mass., married Elizabeth Mitchell in 1783 in Boston and resided in Boston.

The Family Search records for these two Lemuels (https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/9HHY-NR5 for the Falmouth Lemuel, https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/2Z8S-3P5 for the Boston Lemuel) were merged into a single person with the latter surviving, and yet an attached source is for a 1727 christening of Lemuel, son of William. The only other sources attached at Family Search are for the supposed two marriages of the "1733" Lemuel, in 1750 to Peggy (when he would have been 17 years old) and in 1783 to Elizabeth. No other sources are provided.

Further research is needed.

Weeks-8250 and Weeks-544 do not represent the same person because: These are two different people and more research is needed to confirm which one married Peggy Gooding.
