Biography

Elizabeth Margaret "Bessie" Weir was born on February 5, 1858 at Kirkpatrick outside Stewartstown, County Tyrone, Ireland. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1914 and lived for a time in New York City while her husband William remained in Ireland studying for the ministry. Later she was joined by her daughters, Sara and Grace, and her son, Robert. The family lived in West Orange and East Orange, Essex County, New Jersey, later moving to Hillsdale-Westwood in Bergen County, New Jersey. Bessie died in 1939.
