Biography

Edward "Emil" Weiss was born May 15, 1885 in Rzepin, Poland. He immigrated to the United States on the SS HH Meier in July 1901[1] from Bremen, Germany. On Nov. 9, 1954 he became a citizen of the United States[2]

He married Eleanor Benoit of Algonac, MI on Aug. 6, 1928[3].

Birth

His city of birth is unclear as there is no Reppne, Poland as indicated in his Declaration of Intention. However, Reppen is the German name for the town of Rzepin, Poland near the German border[4], which was in Germany prior to 1945 but was part of the territory annexed from Germany by Poland[5].

Immigration

July 1901, Emil Weiss, 16yrs, male, single, laborer, coming from Bioloploty, Poland headed for Union City, first time in the U.S., joining mother in Union City, never in prison, not a polygamist[1]
