Dena was born in Fayette County, Alabama in 1889 to William Thomas Welch and Mary Monroe Sanford (known as Mollie). Dena Welch ... She passed away in 1973. [1]
In the summer of 1959, Virginia Willis and her daughter Donna, visited Dena. Dena told Donna that she and Mellie were twins and that their husbands were twins. Donna indicated that when Virginia discussed this with Rubye Willis years later she said it was not true. This was the first and only time Donna recalls of hearing of Dena. Dena gave Donna a wedding gift, a blue doilie she crocheted.
