Biography

Rev. Petrus Wellington was born 1 Mar 1563 in Torrington, Devon, England. [1] He married Johana or Joan Asheton. He died 23 Jan 1631 in Luxulyan, Cornwall, England.

Peter is buried at St Cyriacus and St Julitta Church Cem, Luxulyyan, Cornwall Unitary Authority, Cornwall, England. According to Find a Grave, he was Church Vicar from 1623 until his death. According to John Evelyn's family publication "Wellingtonia" of Spring 1994, the will was probated in 1632 in Devon (pg 96). John Evelyn and Find A Grave (quoting the St Cyriacus and St Julitta Cem) both give the birth date as 1563 in Torrington, Devon, England. Find a Grave gives specifically 01 Mar 1563. I have been unable to verify with additional sources. Again from John Evelyn, Peter is recorded as matriculating from Exeter College in Oxford on 13 Dec 1583 at the age of 20. (pg 96).

Wellington-314 and Wellington-50 appear to represent the same person because: There's a comment on Wellngton-314 "not to confuse with Wellington-50" but these are clearly the same individuals.
