Biography

Mary was my great grandmother, father of Edgar Payne, my grandfather. He told me she died of an appendicitis attack. She knew she was dying, so she called each one of the children into her room beside her bed to talk with them. She told my grandfather that she was leaving soon, and was not coming back. She told him she did not want to leave, but she had to leave. She told him she loved him, and he was going to have to be the man of the family and help take care of his siblings.

Mary is buried in the Early Cemetery in Mercer, MO
