Biography
Abigail Wells was born at Ipswich, Massachusetts on August 17, 1662, daughter of Nathaniel and Lydia (Thurley/Thurlow) Wells. [1]
In the 1682 settlement of her father Nathaniel's estate, Edmund Potter, husband of eldest daughter Abigail, provided a receipt for their share. [2]
She married Edmund Potter c 1680. Edmund, son of Anthony and Elizabeth (?Stone/Whipple) Potter was born c 1655, likely at Ipswich, Massachusetts. [3]
Edmund died before March, 1702, when the inventory of his estate was taken by Matthew Whipple, executor. [4]
At the same time, Nathaniel Wells was named guardian of Edmund Potter Jr., aged about 19 years. [5]
