Elizabeth Wells was born May 4, 1740 at Colchester Township, New London, Connecticut. She is the daughter of Ephraim Wells and Lydia Chapman. [1] She was a daughter of Ephraim Wells and Lydia.[1][2]
Elizabeth married John Chandler (Henry,Henry,Thomas,William), born 1727.[1]
In 1761, husband, John, was chosen as a selectman in Hadley, Massachusetts. The family was in South Hadley, Massachusetts in 1770, where they lived in the old meeting house converted to a dwelling. Apparently, Elizabeth's husband, John, was the first to purchase the building in 1764. [Hist. of Hadley][1] John was a member of the Committee of Correspondence and also the Committee of Safety and Inspection at Hadley, Massachusetts.[3]
In 1800, John and his family were living on a farm at East Bennington, Vermont. The location was on the east side of town, just under the mountain.[1] John died there April 25, 1800.[1]
Elizabeth died March 25, 1832 at Wilmington, Windham, Vermont, United States, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lucina Ball.[1][4]
