His father Robert wrote his will on October 4, 1802, naming his son William Wells III as executor. On January 5, 1820, Robert added a codicil relating to the distribution of his personal estate, naming many of his grandchildren, including

William married Lydia Clark on September 1, 1803 at Wells. [1][2]
His wife Lydia died at the age of 52 years, 5 months on November 1, 1831, at Wells. [3] She is buried in the Oceanview Cemetery, at Wells. [4]
Sometime after his wife Lydia's death he removed to Brownville, Maine.
William died on August 26, 1852 at the age of 72 years, 20 days and is buried in the Village Cemetery at Brownville. [5]
His second wife Martha died on April 22, 1870, aged 75 years, 9 months and is buried with William. [5]

Rhoda born on September 28, 1805. [6]; married Ebenezer Stevens on January 25, 1831[8]; died on November 10, 1881 and is buried in the S. Stevens at Wells with Ebenezer who died on October 22, 1876, age 75. [9]
William born on December 21, 1811 [6]; died at Haverhill, Massachusetts on May 5, 1893. [10]
Benjamin White born on August 5, 1814 [6]; died at Wells on June 19, 1888 [11]; married Amelia Parker at Gloucester, Massachusetts on February 18, 1838. [12]
