It could be that George is a nephew of Nathaniel Wells, son of Thomas Wells who married Anne Bailey, perhaps through Nathaniel's brother John.
This theory is based on the number of autosomal DNA matches that multiple descendants of George's daughter Vashti have to descendants of Wells and Bailey (largely to their son Nathaniel). Given that these matches are often shared with descendants of George's other children, and given that George Wells is most likely to be the George Wells of 1840 Pike County, Mississippi (where Nathaniel Wells' family ended up), and perhaps given that Nathaniel and George both named a daughter Vashti, this seems like a promising connection. However, a lack of segment information being available about these Wells/Bailey matches means that no autosomal DNA triangulation has yet been found.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with George by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with George:
