DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Benjamin by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.

Be very careful here. It seems that John Wells (1676 to 1732) had 2 sons named Benjamin. One born in 1701 & one born in 1720. Both sons are listed as dying in the same year--1798. Why he named both sons "Benjamin" I don't know. My family is from Ben--1720. It took quite a while & a lot of going back and fourth to figure this out.
