Benjamin West, son of Thomas West and [[Waters-1794|Phebe (Waters) West], was born Oct 1, 1665, in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts.^[1]

"West, Benjamin, Middletown, Invt. taken 9 Jan 1733/4, by Daniel Prior, Francis Wetmore and George Hubbard. Court Record, Page 104 on 5 Feb 1733/4: Adms. granted to Hannah West, widow, who gave bond with Lemuel Lee of Middletown. Abigail West, a minor daughter, chose her mother Hannah West to be her guardian. Page 14 (Vol. XII) 3 Dec 1834: Hannah West, Adms., exhibited an account of her Adms., which is accepted by the Court."
