Biography

Sarah, daughter of Francis West and the widow, Sarah Downing Hilliard, was born 2 June 1700, probably in Kings Towne, Rhode Island. She is the great-granddaughter of George Soule. ^[1]

She was married about 1724, probably in what is now North Kingstown, to John Phillips. A 1731 deed by Sarah and her husband John Phillips discharged her brother Peter West for he right in her father's estate. ^[1]

15 May 1742, the West Greenwich Quaker Meeting issued a certificate to the couple. This would introduce them to a new Meeting. 15 April 1747, Sarah, wife of John Phillips was voted a certificate to Voluntown for herself and her children.^[1] Her death is unknown but may have been in Voluntown after 15 April 1747.

No probate records have been found for Sarah and John. ^[1]
