Benjamin West was born 28 March 1746 in Tisbury, Dukes, Massachusetts Bay Colony. He is the son of Thomas West and Drusilla Presbury.[1] On 18 January 1785 he married Mary McCarty in Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts.[2][3] Mary (McCarty) West died in 1803.
Benjamin was a highly regarded and well-respected attorney who practiced law throughout New Hampshire.[4]
On 3 September 1806 Benjamin married Frances Gordon in Amherst, Hillsborouth, New Hampshire. Frances was the widow of William Gordon and daughter of Joshua Atherton, both noted New Hampshire attorneys.[4]
Benjamin died on 29 July 1817 in Charlestown, Sullivan, New Hampshire, United States[5] and is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Charlestown, Sullivan, New Hampshire.[6]
