John Ames 3rd, married Mehitabel Packard, daughter of Israel and Hannah Packard,[1] She was born on 3 July 1705 in Bridgewater,[2] a granddaughter of Zacheus and Sarah (Howard) Packard.[3] He died however in 1726 and she remarried to Samuel West, possibly son of Peter and Patience West, of Duxbury, MA, on 15 Dec. 1727 in West Bridgewater.[4] He was born on 4 Apr. 1697 in Duxbury.[5] Mehitabel (Packard) (Ames) West apparently died by 1737, and Samuel West probably remarried to Lydia Washburn, daughter of Josiah and Mercy (Tilson) Washburn,[6] on 10 Mar. 1736/7 in Bridgewater.[7] He was possibly the Samuel West who died intestate in 1770 in Plymouth.[8]
Lydia Washburn and Samuel West had children:
934 i Ezra West, born on 30 June 1739 in Bridgewater,[63] possibly the Ezra West who married Anna Lillie, daughter of Samuel and Mehitable (Bacon) Lillie,[64] on 26 Nov. 1761 in Stafford, Tolland Co., CT.[65] She was born on 16 May 1745 in Stafford.[66] He died, however, on 19 Mar. 1763 in Stafford, CT.[67] They had one son:
a. John West, born on 30 May 1762 in Stafford, CT,[68] died supposedly on 29 Apr. 1791.[69]
935 ii Mehitabel West, born on 21 Sept. 1741 in Bridgewater,[70] marriage not found.
936 iii John West, born on 4 Mar. 1743 in Bridgewater,[71] marriage not found.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:
