Biography
John Gouldtree West was born in New York around 1868 to English immigrant, Joseph Holdsworth West (b @ 1840) and his wife, Sarah Catherine Gano, who was born in New Jersey about 1846.
He married Milbrough when he was 23-24 years old and they had at least six children:
- Gertrude - b. circa 1891
- Eva - b. circa 1892, m. John Clancy, d. circa 1978
- Joseph - b. circa 1898
- Talbot - b. circa 1901
- Percy - b. circa 1905
- John - b. circa 1909
- Richard - b. circa 1911
He worked as a real estate broker and as a painter.
He died on February 9, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York at 58 years of age.[1]
