Biography

Hubert Rufus West was born about 1865. He is the son of Allan West and Elizabeth Cannon.

At the time of the 1871 Canada Census, Allan (enumerated as "Allen"), Byron H, Milton A, and Hubert R West were listed as living in Harvey, New Brunswick, along with Martha and Elfreda Masters^[1].

At the time of the 1881 Canada Census, Allan, Byron, and Hubert West were listed as living in Harvey, New Brunswick, along with Martha Masters^[2]. At the time of the census, Hubert's occupation was listed as "Farmer".

In 1892, Hubert and his wife emigrated from Canada to the USA through Maine.^[3]

By 1903, Hubert was a widower and living in Seattle, Washington, USA. He travelled to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada to marry Charity Rawlins.^[4]. At the time of their marriage, Hubert's occupation was listed as "Laundryman".

In 1910, Hubert was living at 1215 Westlake Avenue in Seattle. His occupation was again listed as "Laundryman"^[5].
