Silas died on 25 Jun 1759 in Halifax, Halifax, Nova Scotia aged 48.
Circa 1760, Silas family emigrated to Liverpool, Nova Scotia, where his sons were among the first proprietors of the town[1], however Silas wasn't among them, as indicated by many family trees. The confusion is understandable: Silas West was a soldier in Josiah Thatcher's Company, in John Thomas' regiment, who landed in Halifax May 11, 1759. According to the records of his regiment, Silas died 25 June 1759 in Halifax, Nova Scotia[2][3]
