He is listed as the son of George Wetherbee and Mary Maxted. However, he is actually the illegitimate son of his sister Louise Gertrude Wetherbee.

A birth record for Harold Edward Wetherbee lists his mother as L Gertrude. He was born 21 July 1907 in Hudson, Massachusetts.

He married Helen Blazer in Chicago, IL on 13 Feb 1945.

He died in 1997 in Big Sandy, Montana, with his death being announced in the 05 October 1997 Great Falls Tribune.
