Wednesday service for former resident
CEDAR FALLS ? Funeral services for a former Oelwein area resident Melvern Emanuel Wetherbee, 58, Cedar Falls, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20, 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian church in Cedar Falls.
Wetherbee died at Alien Memorial hospital Saturday night. He was born March 17, 1911 to Colonel W. and Retta Mae Sharer Wetherbee at West Union.
Survivors include his mother, Waterloo; three brothers, Arnold W., Spanaway, Wash.; Luvern F., Cedar Falls; Lawrence A., Waterloo; four sisters, Mrs. Cecil E. Cage, Yakima, Wash.; Mrs. C.Q. Crunder, Chula Vista, Calif.; Mrs. E. E. Whelstone, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Albert Altabet, Redondo Beach, Calif.; several nieces and nephews. Burial will be at Hillside cemetery in Cedar Falls.
