Eva Christiana Wetzel was born in 1759, in Virginia, a daughter of Captain John Martin Wetzel, Sr. and Mary Catherine Bonnett. Eve married John Jacob Wolf(e) (see researchers notes). Eve and Jacob Wolf are found in the marriage records for their daughter:

  • Elizabeth Wolf, who married Henry Sine, on June 30, 1806, in Monongalia, Virginia (became West Virginia in 1863) [1]

Eve and Jacob Wolf are found in the death records for their daughter:

  • Susannah Wolf, born circa 1835, in Monongalia county, Virginia, who died March 11, 1853, at Sandy Creek, Preston county, Virginia, at the age of 18 years. Wife of Leonard Cupp. [2]

Eva Christina (Wetzel) Wolfe died in 1786, in Marshall County, Virginia, and is buried in the Limestone Cemetery. [3]

Eva's Find A Grave memorial indicates that she was born in Shenandoah, Page county, Virginia, however, Page County was formed in 1831 from portions of Shenandoah and Rockingham counties and named for John Page, revolutionary patriot, congressman, and governor of Virginia from 1802 to 1805.

At the time of her death, the place where she had lived was part of Ohio County, Virginia, formed after the American Revolutionary War. Marshall County was formed in 1835 from Ohio County by act of the Virginia Assembly. In 1852. It did not become part of West Virginia until that state was formed in 1863, at the onset of the American Revolutionary War.

Checking on a marriage date of 1793 in Ohio from family records to a more citable source - [Kemp-8567] 23 July 2022. Note: In 1793 Ohio was still part of Virginia, so marriage records would be in that state
Changed date of death from 1786 to 1803 (a year after her youngest child's birth) to eliminate the database error~Cindy Williams Lesure Matched date of death to Find A grave. jg
There is still a conflict with the birth of the youngest child Philip [Wolfe-2407] in 1810 per McCoy profile. Changed death date to after the event.

I think some children have been mistakenly attributed to Eva Chistina Wetzel. Her Find A Grave memorial indicates that her son, George Augustus born in 1781 married Rebecca Simpson: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/13914529/george-augustus-wolfe
