Marriage: 10 May 1630 St Mary Harrow, Harrow, Middlesex, England Jane Whalley Thomas Hooke with a license. London Metropolitan Archives; London, England; Reference Number: DRO/003/A/01/001. [1]
Sometime after October 1637, William Hooke took his family to New England, settling in Taunton, Plymouth Colony; her husband was a Pastor of the church in Taunton. By 1644 he had moved to New Haven, presumably with his family, where her husband served as the teacher, with John Davenport as pastor.[2]
In the early 1650s, Jane was sent back to England ahead of her husband; Hook returned two years later. He was briefly at Axmouth. By 1658 he became Mastor of Savoy. At the restoration of the King Charles II in 1660, Hook lost his post at Savoy. He had to go into hiding after the authorities confiscated a letter written to John Davenport, a regicide. It is unknown where his wife was during this time; but by 1666 he was living in West Harding Street. In 1672 he was a licensed congregational in the house of Richard Loton in Spittleyard, Bishopsgate.[2]
Her husband, William Hook, died in 1678 and was buried in London at Bunhill Fields. It is unknown when Mary died or where she was buried.[2]
