Richard Whalley, was born about 1558, the son of Thomas Whalley of Kirton and his wife Elizabeth, daughter of Henry Hatfield of Willoughby.[1]
He was a member of parliament for Boroughbridge in the forty third year of Elizabeth's reign (1602). He married Frances Cromwell.
DNB (1899), states that Richard was sheriff of Nottinghamshire in 1595-6, knight of the shire in 1597, married as his second wife, Frances, daughter of Sir Henry Cromwell, and was father of Colonel Edward Whalley."
In the House of Commons, June 1, 1614: Whalley's Debt. L.1. An Act to make void divers Statutes, &c. continued upon the Lands of Mr. Whalley, to defraud Sir Robert Wynde of his just Debt.[2]

Also, it is not clear that the House of Commons reference refers to this person, could you add some information that confirms this. There were many Whalleys in Nottinghamshire.
A father's death date (Whalley-2 died 1610) should not be more than nine months before one of his children's birth dates (Whalley-6 born 1612) .
