Hello all, I have replaced the sources I added for this Justice of Texas for the second time.
I have added wikipedia, Texas handbook, Justices of Texas (Tarleton law library, and Laws of Texas both to show his presence and the name spelling and state of Birth. and the Fact that Wheeler County is named for this man by the legislature
Regarding the parentage on this profile: The only source is Albert Gallatin Wheeler's "Wheeler Family in America" p. 522. However, that source gives the birth date as 1804. Why would that source be reliable for parents, but unreliable for the birth date? Or the death date? Why would this profile be confident of these parents when the Historical Society of Texas is not? I was unable to find any Vermont sources for this man's birth to confirm or rule out these parents. Are there additional sources not listed here?
The following reads like an accusation: "I believe approving this merge would compromise the data that is present on the first profile. The profile manager on (Wheeler-11819) intends to edited and remove some of the data in (Wheeler-10588)." If there's a question over the parentage, "Unmerged Match" is appropriate, not rejecting the merge. Do you really think there were two different men with the same name who served as Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court at the same time? Of course not!
Here's my edits: I added his children, based on the 1850 Census. And I added that Wheeler County Texas is named after him. I decided not to bother trying to merge, even though those were the same person. Easier to make Wheeler-11819 into a different Wheeler, and thereby get rid of the problem.
I have no idea what you are accusing me of wanting to remove or "compromise." Not my intentions, ever. I cannot imagine why you would make something like that up. Totally bizarre.
Wheeler-11819 and Wheeler-10588 do not represent the same person because: Because I believe approving this merge would compromise the data that is present on the first profile. The profile manager on (Wheeler-11819) intends to edited and remove some of the data in (Wheeler-10588).
Elizabeth, I have documents that support this information. Royall (Royal) may have used a double 'L' to identify himself as different generation.. I have 3 Royal Wheeler's and each is related. Albert Gallatin Wheeler, there are 3 of these namesakes. I don't have any one of them who was born or died in 1914... This is the date of his genealogical publication. He is a noted family genealogist and my 7th cousin, and reliable source.
