Biography

Leonard Wheeler was born in 1787. He married Eunice Daggett in 1810. He died in 1857. They had a child, Louisa P Wheeler .[1][2]


In the 1820 census Leonard was in Chesterfield, Cheshire, New Hampshire, United States.[3]

1825 Jefferson Co, NY Land transaction from David Johnson to Leonard Wheeler[4] This Indenture made the twenty second day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty five between David Johnson and Phebe Johnson his wife of Chesterfield in the County of Chesh & State of New Hampshire of the first part and Leonard Wheeler of Henderson in the County of Jefferson & State of New York of the Second part Witnesseth That the parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Six hundred Dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged have granted bargained sold remised released aliened and confirmed and by these present do grant bargain sell remise release alien and confirm unto the said party of the second part in his actual possession now being and to his heirs and assigns forever . All that tract of land in the town of Henderson aforesaid on pretended in the north half of Subdivision No 2 . on the great lot No 42 in Benjamin Wrights survey of the said Town of Henderson made A.D. 1799 . Be at the north west corner of Said Subdivision at a Stake Seven links South of beech sapling cornered and marked 3.4 . 1.2 . and thence running South East along a line of marked trees thirty three chains & twenty six links to a Stake in a Marsh cornered & marked 31.32 . 42.43 . and fence extending 9 ° West from each of the above mentioned corners on the last and west line of said lot far enough to include one half of Said Subdivision the division line being parallel with the north line above described . The one half being according to said survey sixty eight acres eleven hundredths of an acre be the same more or less . Together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof and all the estate right title interest claim or demand whatsoever of the said parties of the first part either in law or equity of in and to the above bargained premises with the said hereditaments and appurtenances . To have and to hold the said premises and every part thereof to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to the sole and only proper use benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever subject to the conditions and Stipulations contained in the letters patent whereby the lands were originally granted and the said David Johnson for himself and his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant grant bargain promise and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against all and every person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the whole or any part of the above mentioned and described premises will forever Warrant and defend . In 1827 Leonard and Eunice have another land transaction in Jefferson Co[5] This Indenture made the fourth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven Between Leonard Wheeler of Henderson in the County of Jefferson State ┃ of New York and his wife Eunice of the first part and Jesse Elliot of the town County and State aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Six hundred dollars lawful money of the United States ┃ of America to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and the said party of the second part his heirs executors and administrators forever released and discharged from the same by these presents have granted bargained sold released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain and sell release alien and confirm unto the said party of the second part in his actual possession now being and to his heirs and assigns forever that piece or parcel of land lying in the town of Henderson County of Jefferson and State of New York distinguished in the map of said town made by Benjamin Wright as the north half of Subdivision No 2 . on the great lot No 42 : Beginning at the Northwest corner of Said Subdivision at a Stake Seven links South of a beech sapling cornered and marked 3 : 4 : 1 : 2 : and thence running South 81 ° East along a line of marked trees thirty three chains and twenty six links to an ash Stake in a marsh cornered and marked 31:32 : 42:43 : and then extending South 9 ° West from each of the above mentioned corners on the East and West lines of said lot far enough to include one half of Said Subdivision the division line being parallel with the North line above described the one half being according to Said Survey sixty eight acres and eleven hundredths of an acre the same more or less -- the conditions of these presents are to comprehend all that tract or parcel of land lying East of the road running through said described premises containing about forty acres to be the same more or less - Together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profit thereof , and also all the estate right title interest property claim or demand whatsoever of the said parties of the first part either in law or equity of in and to the above described premises with the said hereditaments and appurtenances .
