Biography

Nathan was born in 1819 in Georgia, United States. He was the son of John Wheeler and Nancy Anne (Wilson) Wheeler.

When Nathan was about 20 he married on 14 December 1839 in Hall, Georgia.[1]

In the 1850 census Nathan (age about 31) was living in Division 15, Cherokee, Georgia. Also present was wife Sarah (28), John M (10), Henry J (8), William M (6), Nancy (4), Margaret (5 months). [2]

In the 1860 census Nathan (age about 41) was living in Woodstock, Cherokee, Georgia, United States.[3]

He enrolled for military service on July 22, 1863, with the Georgia’s Cherokee Legion State Guards for a period of 6 months. [4] [5]

In the 1870 census Nathan (age about 51) was living in Hickory Flat, Cherokee, Georgia, United States.[6]
