Biography

Born: Sarah Wheeler, daughter of William Wheeler.

Married: Sarah Wheeler married John Horton, "bef.18 Nov. 1761: bride dau.of Wm. Wheeler (d. WC 1762)". This date is based upon the date of execution of William Wheeler's Will.[1][2][3][4][5] [6]

Residence: Stafford County, Virginia.[4][7][1]

Named in Father's Will: "Sarah Horton" was named in her father William Wheeler's Will of November 18, 1761. That Will provided as follows: to William Wheeler's "Wife Elizabeth land; dau. Sarah Horton land and £10; dau. Elizabeth Strother 1 negro; sons Richard and John 5 shillings each; son Thomas land at death of wife." The Will was proven in Probate on September 28, 1762. [8]

Death: Based upon Sarah having been named as a devisee in her father's will, she must have died after November 18, 1761. One researcher puts her death in 1808 in Pendleton County, S.C., but I have no sources to confirm that assertion.[9]
