Reason was born to William Henry Wheeler and Elizabeth Porter, in Cabell County, Virginia, in 1817 [1], or 23 February 1815.

Reason was married 22 August 1850, in Cabell County, Virginia, to Mary Keaton [2]

They lived with his father at first [6]
He and Mary were living in Cabell in 1860 with their first three children, [7]
and were still there in 1880 with their two youngest children. [8][9]
Reason Wheeler died in Cabell on May 13, 1900 and was buried in the Zoar Cemetery in Milton. [1]
