Essie was my great I grandmother. She sewed patchwork quilts, and taught me sewing basics. She made some of the best mashed potatoes! I had a loose tooth at her house once, and she tied a string to my tooth and a door knob. She proceeded to slam the door to yank the tooth out, but I ran after the door. Needless to say, I never said I had a loose tooth at her house again!
