William Wheeler's Will

Will dated 19 April 1732, probated 6 June 1738, Liber 21, Folio 894, Hall of Records, Baltimore, MD (Note: Some punctuation has been added [by Doyle Fenn] to provide clarity.)

In the Name of God, Amen, I William Wheeler of Baltmr. County, Maryland, Planter, being weak in body but of sound memory, Blessed by God, do this day of Apr ye 19th in the year one thousand seven hundred and thirty two make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following - that is to say *- IMPRIMIS I give to MY SON JOHN WHEELER or his heirs the sum of one Shilling.

• ITEM - I give to MY SON WILLIAM WHEELER my bridle and saddle. ITEM - I give and bequeath to MY SON RICHARD one Bible.
• ITEM - I give to MY SON THOMAS WHEELER one dark brown colored mare colt, pleashour.
• ITEM - I give to MY SON WEATON WHEELER one heifer with her increase of cow calfes.
• ITEM - I give and bequeath to MY SON WILLIAM WHEELER Jun'r one mare.
• ITEM - I give to MY SON MOSES WHEELER on two year old heifer.
• ITEM - I give to MY DEAR WIFE MARTHA WHEELER all that messuage or tenement wherein I now live with all my lands to hold to her during her life, and after her decease I give the same to MY SON(S) SOLOMON AND ISAAC WHEELER to be equally divided between them, and their heirs lawfully begotten and for default of such issue to fall to MY SON WEATON and his issue.
• ITEM - I give to my dear wife all the rest of my goods chattels or estates whatsoever whereof I shall die seised in possession, reversion or remainder until my SONS SOLOMON and ISAAC and DAUGHTERS MARTHA AND ANN WHEELER come of age then to be equally divided between them and
• I make and ordain her my said wife sole executrix of this my will, in trust for the intents and purposes in this my will contained in witness whereof I the said WILLIAM WHEELER have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand seal the day and year above written.

Witnesses: Buckley Partridge, Jane Partridge, Henry (X) Williams

On June 6, 1738 Buckley Partridge and Jane Partridge, testified they witnessed the will. On June 7, 1738, Martha Wheeler was certified as executrix of the will.

The estate was valued at £96.16.2 and was inventoried by Thomas & Wason (Wheaton) Wheeler as kin and Jabez Morray (Murray) and Thomas Taylor as creditors
