Martha was born 31 Jul 1703. She was the daughter of Joseph Wheelock and Elizabeth ________.^[1][2]

Martha married [[Houghton-154|Deacon Israel Houghton], son of Jacob and Martha (Whitcomb) Houghton, on 31 July 1723 in Lancaster, Massachusetts.^[3] Martha's sister Ruth married Israel's brother Benjamin Houghton.

Israel was the son of Jacob Houghton. His brother, Benjamin, married Ruth Wheelock. He was elected deacon of the First Church of Lancaster 1 Oct 1742, and resigned 9 Sep 1761. ( Page 44)
