The will of Joseph Wheelock of Lancaster, yeoman was dated 17 November 1743 with a codicil dated 6 March 1750 and proved on 20 July 1752 in Worcester.

Joseph's daughter Mary is the only birth to appear in vital records. The other children are mentioned in Joseph's will. He mentioned his wife Elizabeth (who is later deceased in the codicil), and his children, Joseph Wheelock (eldest son), Jonathan Wheelock, Elizabeth Sawyer (eldest daughter), Mary Osgood, Abigail Eames, Ruth Houghton, Martha Houghton, John Wheelock (executor), and his granddaughter, Dorothy Eames.[3]
