Biography

The Visitation of Kent 1592, page 115-6, has the Whetenhall pedigree and this shows that Anne Whetenhall, the daughter of "George Whetenhall of Est Peckham, gent, sonne and heire to William" and "Alys daughter and one of theires of Thomas Berkley of Aven in the countie of Hampton Esquire" married John Code of London Merchant

Research Notes

I am removing Anne Whetenhall (Whetenhall-8) as the wife of John Saunders (Saunders-582) for the following reasons.

Saunders-582 is 1. the eldest son and heir of Edward Saunders and Joan Makerneys - (who were married before 1473 which would make John's estimated year of birth c1473-4) and 2. the sibling of Lawrence; William; Thomas; Grace and Isabel Saunders who were all born in Northamptonshire.

The following sources confirm a) his relationship with Edward Saunders of Northamptonshire b) his siblings c) his residence (and descendants) in Bedworth Warwickshire.
