Remembrances of Dolores

My mom's brother, Lawrence, was a very likeable guy. Whenever we were in Cincinnati, we would visit with him a lot. He was a tall and good looking man, with wavy hair and a strong jaw and pleasant features.

He operated a horse riding stable way out on a country road, which I much later found out from my cousin, Dick Zimmers was on Elstun Road. I remember when I was a little kid visiting there that he still had an out house! I remember this well, because being unaccustomed to those things, I was downright scared to go in there.

Another of Mom's stories about the twin brothers, was that one day they were playing in the barn where they were living; and, they all were up in the hay loft. The boys were jumping from the loft down into a pile of hay. Mom got curious and was looking over the edge of the loft when one of them (she never saw which one) pushed her off. When she landed, her front tooth came out into her knee; and, both brothers received a sound thrashing from their father, Ben.

Lawrence is buried at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Union Township, Clermont County, Ohio, Section 3, Lot 75.
