Biography

Rachel Whitaker was born in Kentucky on 18 May 1794.[1] She was the daughter of Jesse Whitaker and Lydia Lindsay.[2]

She married Joshua Chapman on 14 November 1810 in Shelby County, Kentucky.[2] They were the parents of:[1]

  1. Jessie W. Chapman (1812-1865)
  2. George Walter Chapman (1820-1888)
  3. Hiram Chapman (1822-1880)

An undocumented note on Rachel's Find A Grave profile states that she was married a second time, to Rev. Ancil Hall. Rachel died in Kentucky on 13 May 1876 and was buried in the Hall Graveyard in Fordsville, Ohio County, Kentucky, although no tombstone has yet been found documenting this.[1]
