Biography

This William White, woolcoomber and tobacco merchant of Leiden, was long believed to be identical with Mayflower passenger William White. This has been proven to be incorrect. [1] [2] This William White was originally from England, though exactly where is not known. He married Ann Fuller on 11 February 1612 in Leiden; she was not the Susanna who married the other William White as has been hypothesized.[3] This William White most likely died before 18 January 1635 when his wife, Ann White is mentioned as William White's widow. [4]

Birth

Born: About 1590 (Say 1580 to 1592)
Estimate based on marriage in 1612.
His birth date, birth place, parents and English origins are unknown. There is no evidence to support the precise date of 10 Nov 1591 previously found on this profile.

This profile has Netherlands Project Box but is managed by Mayflower. I think NNS should be manager instead of Mayflower. Mayflower could move to trusted list.

Since this William White is NOT the same person as the Mayflower passenger, The Mayflower categories will be removed from his profile.
This is definitely not the Pilgrim William White. who traveled on the Mayflower. This man's 1691 b.d. would have made him only 19 when on the Mayflower and only 14 when he fathered the son Resolved White - which is very unlikely. The age difference between this man and the Pilgrim William White is just one reason to agree that they are not the same man and these two profiles shouldn't be merged,- ever.

White-41450 and White-12582 appear to represent the same person because: Please agree to merge these duplicate profiles. Thanks!

Hi Becky,

They actually are no longer the same individuals, we had added and still have this note added to them all because of the previous different theories and because there were so many duplicates created for them, so to explain things and make sure no duplicates were created again, we have the note with the link to this G2G where things were discussed and decided added to it.

Their were some recent new discoveries and publications about William White and his wife Susanna Jackson, we still are working on things and Joe is updating and adding some profiles now :)

It is against WikiTree policy to have two profiles for the same individual.
Information that contradicts the conclusions in this profile may be found in "The English Origin and Kinship of Mayflower Passengers William White and Dorothy (May) Bradford of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire"
Thank you Anne :)

In the biography section of this profile, You have a Death section, that contains the death of Susanna in Plymouth. It doesn't belong on William's profile and is only going to cause confusion.

Hi Andrew,

We have been working on this family for a while now and decided we now, because of the controversy, are going to keep two couples, so your William White now is the one that did marry Ann(a) Fuller in Leiden, see the note on top, it has links to all profiles and the G2G where we have been discussing this and decided this probably is the best way to handle this.
