Biography

My White family is from the Bay Area in California. My dad was born in Oklahoma and grew up there and in Texas. His ancestry is English and other parts of Great Britain. Currently looking for Hood's in Kentucky and White's and Smith's in Tennessee. We believe he is also of Native Ancestry descent because of stories my grandmother told him, his brothers and sisters but can not find proof.

My mom was born and raised in New Jersey. Her ancestors were from Germany, Prussia and Hungary. Currently looking for Brautigam/Masanetz/Kammerer from Central Europe. She was second generation American and the first to get a drivers license in her family LOL.

Hi Kim, I just wanted to post the Sources on the correct profiles. I am so sorry that it generated so many emails. If you open the profiles, I will make the changes myself. I was just trying to help your research.

My mother-in-law was a White from Texas. I wonder if there is a connection.

Not sure if this will help you Kim but if you are related to Preston William White George 1906-1993 (born in Osage County Indian Territory "Now Oklahoma"), he has I believe a great great grandfather named John White III 1786-1859 born in Washington PA who appears to have some native American features to me looking at his picture.

Welcome aboard Kim. I'm sure you will be a valued member. You might check out the Cherokee Indian Genealogy Forum. A very good source of Native American families. Especially, if he lived in NC, KY or TN. If it is an OK Indian Tribe there were too many to narrow it down for you. OK was known as the Indian Nations. Native American is not my strong suit but I'll be glad to help if I can. Good luck and Happy Huntimg.
