Emily was born about 1827 in Whitley County, Kentucky, the daughter of Dempsey and Nancy (Perkins) White.
She married James W Mahan, III on May 28, 1844 in Whitley County, Kentucky.[1]
The 1850 U.S. Census lists Emily at the age of 23 living with her husband James and three children on a farm in Hardin County, Tennessee.[2]
Emily (White) Mahan is believed to have died on the trail from Hardin, Tennessee or shortly after reaching Center Ridge, Arkansas.
