Little documentation exists for Jane White.
Jane White was born about 1720. Her death is uncertain, as is her parentage. Some have it as prior to 1761; some about 1790 in Pa. There are no sources for either. Jane's parentage is often attributed to Alexander White, but she was not included in his will. It is not unheard of for a child to be left out of a will, but it also raises the possibility that Jane White Millikan may have been Alexander and Jane's granddaughter, not daughter. In merging this profile with another, Jane was linked to Samuel White and Jean. There is no evidence to back this claim either, but perhaps less circumstantial evidence than that with Alexander White. A thoughtful discussion of these possible parents can be found here.
Jane's husband, William Millikan, left Pennsylvania about 1758 and moved to North Carolina. Some genealogists have speculated that Jane either died in Pennsylvania before he left, or that she moved with him and died in NC, not long afterwards. A monument in Springfield Friends Meeting cemetery in Guilford Co. NC gives her dates as 1720-1758, but this is a 20th century memorial, not contemporaneous with her death. Jane's death date and place have not been proven. See William for further discussion of the uncertainties about this couple.
Much has been speculated about the death of Jane White Millikan. Many accounts have her dying in Pennsylvania prior to the family's departure to North Carolina. The following account from 1775 in North Carolina may refute that assertion.[1]

Witnesses:
NOTE: Could the witness Jane be William and Jane's daughter, Jane Millikan? Unlikely, as Jane was married to Abraham Powell in 1768, and would have used Jane Powell as her signature.
And there is this account from 1767. Could this be Jane, mother of the groom? Or possibly his sister, Jane Millikan?
The marriage intention between Samuel MIllikan and Ann Baldwin was noted in the New Garden Monthly Meeting minutes on June 10, 1767. Witnesses to their declaration were as follows:[2]
