Biography

Sarah was born in 1836. She was the daughter of Abijah White and Missouri Purser. She passed away in 1892. [1]

Sarah first married James A Saulters, he died during the Civil War and in the 1866 State of Mississippi census she was a widow Mrs. S. A. Salter, living in Smith County. The state census showed she was age 20 and under 30, and had 3 males (Peter, Colon and Simon) all under the age of 10. Her brother's widow, Sarah White was living next door to him, age 20 and under 30, with 2 males under the age of 10 ( John Robert and Henry Warren) and l female under the age of 10 (Mary Jane).

She later married the widower of her sister Janie, Phillip Roberts who in 1866 lived 3 doors down from her, Janie had died, and he was age 20 and under 30, with 2 males under 10, l male over 10 and 2 females under 10, I have not been able to names these children. Patsy Butler, sister to Phillip Roberts, was also living next door age 20 & under 30, with 2 males under the age of 10.

Sarah's mother Missouri Purser White was living in the household of she and Phillip at age 70 in year 1880. Sarah's middle name came from her application to draw husband No. 2, Phillip Roberts Civil War Pension in the year 1904. Marshall-7457 14:47, 10 March 2018 (EST)
